Thousands of Gallons of People

A couple weeks ago, I was in a meeting discussing some future changes where I work. As always, change is strongly resisted in any corporate culture, and this meeting was no exception. One gentleman started a long tirade against the upcoming changes with a lady on the call acting as General Cheerleader who supported his cause by liberally sprinkling everything he said with loud ‘AMEN!’s.

It was all rather awkward, even, I think, for the gentleman speaking (at the very least it was highly distracting). Still, he made some excellent points and then wrapped it up.

At which point Backup Lady decided to carry on his sentiments with a beautifully crafted sentence. In a loud voice she passionately declared;

The thing you don’t understand is that thousands of gallons of people will be affected!!!”

Things like that, ladies and gentleman, truly make the day worthwhile.
